#PopMusic | Introducing Dreamville from Kenya
A story is told of three artists who had this desire to inspire the entire universe through the art of music. With the passion of MISHU, patience of CRAZZY WEBB and persistence of R.H, they persevered everything to keep their Dream Alive. Originating from Africa - the motherland, DREAMVILLE ( christened Dr3amVille), is an upstart multi-genre music group formed in January 2012, based in Nairobi, Kenya, with affiliate members in all the 5 continents. The group draws inspiration from artists, events and occurrences that they get exposed to on the daily, hence the basis of their music. They are influenced by the works of K'Naan, Sade, P-Square, Sauti Sol, Juliani, Spoerk Mathambo, Toya DeLazy, TearGas and of course legends like Bob Marley, Tupac & Michael Jackson.Through good music, the group aims at exporting diverse Kenyan culture to a worldwide audience stating that they got skills on the real. During summer, DreamVille embarked on a collaborative mix tape with all their affiliate members in a project dubbed " WiLD iN THE ViLLE " that is expected to drop this Fall. The first single off the EP featuring Florida based singer RonMixa and Kenyan rapper R.H, is titled I Wanna Love You. The song is already enjoying great response from the public as well as getting airplay in online radios like Phenom Radio ( Texas ) and On Top fm, UK's leading radio station. The second track, Dream Love, featuring Asia and Africa is expected to follow the same success path.
DREAMVILLE produces their own songs, working hard to break from the rigid genre mindset and make music free from preconceived boundaries. They have been blessed to grace the stage with notable names in Kenyan showbiz. The group has affiliate members from Texas, Gujarat, Dhaka, California, Ottawa, Sydney, South Africa, Zambia, Jamaica and Nigeria.
They launched their first official single Dream Alive, in July and it went on to get airplay on the Texas based, universally acclaimed Phenom Radio, where its still on rotation.
Apart from being busy uniting the world through music, Dr3amVille has been performing in charity concerts as well as society awareness campaigns. They have also taken a couple of talents under their wing, but they aim at creating a record label to assist other young creative artists to achieve their dreams.
